I am a proud Uyghur woman born and raised in Central Asia, who started a career path through a queer organization, feminist marches and street activism back in 2017.
My work supports local grassroots initiatives and regional organizations develop advocacy strategies, build capacity, mobilize recourses and conduct research.
After several physical and cyber-attacks that I faced, I focused on creating safe space for human rights defenders, physical and mental health and storytelling.
Those violent attacks not only left a trauma, but also forced me to look at activism from the prism of self-care, and recall what I wanted to do since childhood - to tell stories.
